Sounds like this internet site is bogus --- someone with a problem with DZ or Greeks in general is just trying to start controversy. I know from reading posts that all of this "secret revealing" can lead to a lot of drama, so I thought it was safer to post under here. It turned out to be BS, but it made me curious. And I think it really empowered the other girls when they started speaking out about their experiences and telling their sides of the story. The most that was said to us about initiation was that it was a very special ceremony and that it would be one of our best experiences as a Delta Zeta.
We all started feeling really anxious. Okay, I recieved an email the other day that said that Delta Zeta's rituals were published on the internet by a new member that had her new member pin taken. We've all been dealing with what Delta Zeta did to our ideas of whether or not we make the grade—as people, as women on this campus, even in society. What broke the camel's back for me was when I heard that national reps from Delta Zeta stated outright that the women had been cut because they didn't live up to the organization's moral and ethical standards. Basically, the sorority declared that they were no longer worthy of being a Delta Zeta at DePauw. Learn more here. I want to see it for myself. On December 2, a letter went out to 23 sisters—out of a total of 35 in the house—telling them they had been given alumna status. I decided to withdraw from the sorority and take alumna status. The official reason given for this action was that the sisters hadn't helped enough with recruitment, but everyone could tell that the girls asked to leave had one thing in common: They didn't fit the image Delta Zeta had been trying to project.
