The 18 version is certainly not suitable for younger children but the dance scenes are definitely worth sharing with all the family. The sound delay/sync issue is not my audio/video gear. During the dance scenes, the music really blasts out clearly, like you are listening to a CD of the Bee Gees. It's a powerful and provocative urban tragedy that carries as much significance today as it did in 1977. The new Blu-ray edition of Saturday Night Fever is excellent. A real gem of a movie that captures the time.

I Love this movie so much and I Love John Travolta when he was young and dreamy. I first saw 'Saturday Night Fever' on release in the cinema in 1978 and the power of the music and images, energy of the dance sequences and unabashed non-politically-correct grittiness of the dialogue and narrative are every bit as captivating and moving on this DVD release, with its restored picture and soundtrack, as they were on first release on the big screen. Awful plot, offensive, the main characters are bigoted rapists, acting and story were bad and just plain stupid.
